About the Live Propagation & Band Conditions App
This Live Propagation & Band Conditions app provides amateur radio operators with an easy-to-understand, real-time overview of current HF radio conditions. Using live data from NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center sources — including solar flux, geomagnetic Kp index, solar wind speed, and interplanetary magnetic field (Bt/Bz) — the app estimates likely band performance across the HF spectrum. It then translates complex space-weather data into practical, operator-friendly guidance, including a “Try this band now” recommendation that is weighted for UK local time and typical operating conditions. The aim is not scientific prediction, but clear, practical advice to help operators decide which bands are most worth trying right now, whether operating from the shack or portable.
